Laomei Reinvention - Your Private Tour Guide in the Pocket

In Laomei Taiwan, people go to city for the work, leaving the old, and the children behind. Uniting the with the Showmeis, next generation of the villagers, Dentsu Taiwan and the local government turned the old town into a living picture book, re-designing the whole village visual system based on local specialities and cultural features.  This includes five virtual genies as visual identity, wall painting,  virtual story book on IG/FB, AR filters of the genies etc. 

After doing field surveys and tourist interviews, we found that most of the tourists can hardly find these creations hiding on the street and even harder to view the digital stories or try AR filters without tour guide. To help tourists experience these digital creation and truly explore the beauty of the village, we created Laomei Guide Bot - A virtual messenger tour guide, who provides step-by-step instructions to connect your journey with Showmei’s virtual adventure.
